About the RSRA EZ-Screen™
The RSRA – Record Search with Risk Assessment, also called the "EZ-Screen", can be ordered here in a few minutes. We accept any credit card, or we can simply send you a bill. The RSRA is perfect for credit unions and smaller lenders who do not have a full-time environmental expert on staff, but want to be able to cheaply and quickly screen collateral. It is also great for US Small Business Administration loans facilitated by Community Development Corporations (CDCs) and Preferred Lending Partners (PLPs).
The biggest advantage of the RSRA over every other desktop environmental screen is the fact that there is no possible conflict of interest. This is because of our unique "Clean or Free Guarantee". No other consulting firm can offer such a guarantee, because they rely on upselling, which can be a real or perceived conflict of interest. With our RSRA, you never have to wonder if the recommendation for more extensive investigation is truly warranted.
Even better? Every RSRA is provided by a 30+ year veteran of the environmental industry, so you always get the most professional possible results. The RSRA is not intended to establish a future defense against potential liability. But it is perfect for lenders who understand the legal viewpoint that their bank is exempt from pollution liability under CERCLA, yet still want to assess the environmental risk of their collateral and make sure their portfolio (and their borrower) carries less risk, and is thus a safer and more valuable bet.
A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) is always recommended if liability protection is the goal. The RSRA is much less expensive and much faster than a Phase I ESA, however, and includes many of the same elements. A Phase I ESA can typically cost $2,000 – $4,000 and take two to four weeks. By contrast, an RSRA takes just a few days and costs from $499.
The best part? If we find an elevated risk and have to recommend a Phase I ESA, your RSRA is free. Even if you ask us to do the Phase I ESA, we will refuse. You can have anyone you like do that work, and we often recommend a good local consultant to help you. We do not even want to have the appearance of a potential conflict of interest. That is the "Clean or Free" guarantee.

“We know from experience that Sierra has our best interests in mind. That's something that a lot of people talk about, but very few deliver in today's world. We know we can trust them to handle our environmental issues when the stakes are high.”
“If you need to know the environmental situation of a subject property, then this is the easiest fastest way to go. I gave Dave 2 physical addresses on Friday afternoon and on Monday morning his 52 page reports were in my email. They were exactly what SBA wanted. An environmental specialist stating that the risk was low. Tuesday, we had an authorization! The only way to go for me from now on!”
“I recently had the pleasure of working with Dave VerSluis. It was refreshing to work with a real professional who exhibited real passion and enthusiasm for his expertise. His depth of knowledge was impressive and assuring. He kept me informed regularly and through every step of the process. For Environmental Risk Assessment, Dave VerSluis is the expert to call.”
